Service is a gift.  Not everyone is blessed to have a connection with God to be called to serve.  In this day and age, time goes by so fast and it has become a precious commodity.  But service requires time.  And so, those who have decided to offer their time in service to God has definitely been annointed and blessed by God.  But being blessed is only the beginning.  It requires faith to keep the gift enkindled with fire to keep going.

 

There is a saying that some people only come to God when they need something.  But God wants us to come and acknowledge Him and give praises to His name.  And when we forget, we are reminded by God thru the trials and tribulations that come into our lives.  Those of us who are serving and continue to serve Him knows this very well, and we are in awe of this saying because we do not want these trials and tribulations to come into our lives just to be reminded that we need God in our lives and that we have to come back to Him to acknowledge that He is our God and we need to give praises to His name.

 

It's simple math, really.  God has given us life.  In our lives, we have 24 hours a day.  We come to church and celebrate our faith during Sunday mass service for how long? One measly hour.  God is not asking too much.  He wants us to spend some time with Him for a mere fraction of our time since it's only one hour per week of the 168 hours per week that God has given us.  What God has given, he can easily take away. Let's be happy with the life that God has given us by giving back to Him what He rightfully deserves --our time, a time to praise His name and be grateful for all the blessings He has given us, and to show that we love Him.
